FAQ
What if the movie I want to watch isn’t on the website, can you get it for me?
Yes, we can usually make this happen, provided we get the request two weeks in advance.
There is a $200 fee to bring in and tech check a movie we don't have on hand. That fee comes from the studio and we pass it along without markup.
If so, when you book a suite, select "choose movie later", confirm your desired title wth us, and we can book whatever film you like (outside of Disney who doesn’t allow bookings of their classic films) and add it to your bill the night of your event.
You are called "private" cinema. Is membership required?
No! The “Private” in Metro Private Cinema means you get to eat dinner and watch a movie in a private screening room with only your friends, family or people you invite. There are no strangers in the room. But, there is no membership, all are welcome!
How does dinner work?
We serve a chef-designed, family-style tasting menu in your private suite before the movie begins. When you arrive for your reservation, your dining table is already set with a cheese and charcuterie board so you can immediately settle in. Our staff courses out your main dishes and sides. Right before the movie begins, we clear the dining table and serve your dessert directly to your recliner or loveseat so you can enjoy the show!
Because our culinary team crafts these set menus to perfectly complement your evening, we are unable to accommodate individual substitutions, custom orders, or a la carte requests. (If your party has food allergies, please indicate them when you RSVP in advance so we can safely accommodate them.)
What are Metro's beverage options?
The drink package is the best deal at Metro. It is ostensibly an open bar (within reason) for four hours for $50/person. Guests mix and match and choose throughout the night from two red wines, one bold, one lighter; two whites wines, one rich and buttery, one crisp and refreshing; two craft cocktails; a selection of beers, cider, soft drinks, coffee and tea.
For guests who aren't drinking alcohol, we have a great selection of options that can be ordered à la carte.
As the host, you select the drink package that you prefer. On the night of your reservation, you or your guests can choose a different drink package or augment with wines from our cellar.
And of course you can also elect to order drinks à la carte instead.
Do you have a kids menu? And if so, what is the cost?
If you have a few kids joining an adult party, they are welcome to try anything on the menu. If much of it isn’t to their liking, Chef Joshua can bring out sliced steak or chicken and plain noodles with butter. We will make sure that kids leave happy and full but get a chance to experience our full meal.
If the majority of guests are children, we recommend our kids menu. This menu is available for groups of kids 12 and under on reservations for family films. If you are bringing a group of kids to watch a movie but the Kids Menu is not available, please contact our Guest Services team so that we can make sure your reservation is just right. Of course, adults in the party can order the regular menu while kids enjoy the kids menu.

Are there other dining options besides the full multi-course meal?
The core Metro experience is designed around our elegant, chef-crafted tasting menus. We highly encourage our guests to enjoy the complete culinary experience! However, if your party prefers lighter fare, a "Starters" option featuring our premium cheese, charcuterie, and crudités may be available by special request through Guest Services.
Please note that every reservation requires a minimum Food & Beverage purchase. If your party opts out of the full dinner menu, you can reach your suite's minimum through the Starters option, premium beverage packages, or bottle service. Because these alternative options cannot be booked directly online, please select a full menu at checkout and immediately contact Guest Services to request a modification to your reservation.
If I book the 8 person room and only two people show up, do I have to pay for all 8 seats?
Yes, the rooms have a fixed fee based on the number of seats. You'll see the room rental fee associated with the room when you pick a time for your event.
For food and beverage, however, you only pay for what you eat and drink. If you book an eight person room, and only two people come, you will be charged for two dinners and whatever you drink. Please be aware that we do have a food and beverage minimum that varies by suite.
If I book a four person room and a fifth person shows up, will you be able to accommodate?
There are no guarantees, but we will try our best to accommodate extra guests. We have a limited number of additional seats. Check with a manager as early as possible and we will try.
Can I watch a movie with the subtitles on?
In many cases, yes! Most new releases have an open caption option and you can select that option if you'd like to view subtitles. Unlike your TV at home, you can't toggle the captions on and off with a remote, but if you want to watch the open caption version of a movie, look for that option under the accessibility options, then update your reservation once it's made. Note, this requires advance setup and cannot be done in the moment, so if you do require captions, please select that in advance. If you have questions, please feel free to contact us for assistance.
Can I watch any movie I want?
While Metro's private suites are cozy like a living room, we still have to play by the rules. When we show a movie, we need to acquire it from the film distributor and that takes time. Sometimes, movies just aren't available for theatrical distribution (even if you could easily stream them at home.)
If you’re looking for something that is not in our library, let us know! We’ll do our best to track down the movie you want to see, provided you request the title at least two weeks before your event. Please be aware that some movies just aren’t available, but we’ll try. All custom movie bookings are subject to a $200 custom booking fee that covers the cost of acquiring the movie from the movie studio that distributes it.
Do you sell gift cards?
Yes, we have gift cards! Metro Cinema gift cards can only be purchased in person at the venue. Just tell the front desk or your server that you'd like to purchase a gift card and they'll be happy to help. Our gift cards currently cannot be used to pay for a suite deposit on our website, but once the gift card holder is in the building, they can use them to cover anything, including suite deposit/rental, food, and beverage charges.
Can I bring in a birthday cake?
Yes, however we charge a $5/person fee to receive/cut/plate and clean up. If you do want to bring a cake, please let us know in advance so we can be ready for you.
What if everyone in the party doesn't want dinner?
Our chef-designed tasting menus are created as a shared, family-style experience for your entire group. Because we don't have an a la carte menu, the meal is priced for all guests in attendance, and we are unable to accommodate mixed parties where only some guests participate in the meal. However, you are always charged only for the guests who actually attend. For example, if you book an 8-person suite but arrive with 6 guests, we will serve food for 6 and only charge you for those 6 meals.
Can I watch live sporting events?
Yes! The Metro is an awesome place for sports, it's your own private sports bar with great food, surrounded only by your friends.
To book sports at Metro, simply choose "I'll decide later" for the movie, make the reservation and contact us through the website to work out the details. If you don't see the timeslot you need, we can adjust it to be a perfect start for any game.
Note: for sports bookings, we are renting you the room and the projector. We have an AppleTV in each room and you can log into your own subscription to access the game. Come a bit early and we'll walk you through that process.
Can I change my mind about the movie I want to watch?
Sure! We want you to watch the movie you want to watch. If you change your mind more than 24 hours before your event, you can even change the movie yourself. Just open up your reservation and go to the Movie & Menu Section. From there, you can pick anything else that we have in the current library.
If you arrive at Metro and want to make a change on the day of your event, we'll do our best to accommodate you, but these things take time. We need at least 45 minutes before your reservation to update your suite with a new movie. Of course, we can only show you a movie that we currently have in the library, but we have a ton of movies so that shouldn't be a problem.
If you're looking for something that isn't in our library, we can usually make this happen provided we get the request two weeks in advance. Please contact guest services team if you're looking for something that you don't see on the website.
Do you sell cannabis or partner with someone who does?
We have a great relationship with our friends at Gotham a few blocks away, and they are happy to support all your cannabis and lifestyle needs. They offer delivery directly to your private suite, just make sure the delivery window you select is within the duration of your Metro Cinema experience. They also offer in-store pickup. While you're not allowed to smoke or vape on-premises, we do allow our guests to enjoy edibles and beverages.
Can I film or record content during my private cinema booking or in the bar?
We’re happy to host podcast recordings and personal content creation during your visit.
If you plan to film using your own phone, no advance notice is needed.
However, if your booking involves any kind of film crew, professional equipment, lighting, tripods, or other people dedicated to production, we require advance notice and approval. This allows us to ensure the best possible experience for you and other guests.
Please note that:
Additional fees may apply for larger or more complex filming setups
We may need to adjust scheduling or staffing to accommodate your request
Unannounced production activity may be restricted on arrival
To arrange filming, please contact guest services ahead of your booking and we’ll be happy to help plan everything smoothly.
