FAQ
Can I watch new movies at Metro?
Definitely. That’s what we’re all about.
What if the movie I want to watch isn’t on the website, can you get it for me?
Usually yes. If you give us two weeks notice, we can generally book any film that is theatrically available, and that is a BIG list. There is an additional charge from the studio for custom bookings, generally about $150-$250, which we pass along without markup.
You are called "private" cinema. Is membership required?
No! The “Private” in Metro Private Cinema means you get to eat dinner and watch a movie in a private screening room with only your friends, family or people you invite. There are no strangers in the room. But, there is no membership, all are welcome!
How does dinner work?
We serve a family style, multi-course dinner in the private suite. Dinner is served before the movie for evening shows (reservations starting from 5:30 PM and 9:00 PM) and afrter the movie for matinees (reservations starting from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM) . Your party will be seated at a dining table in your own private suite so that you can enjoy a great meal and lively conversation with friends before the movie.
For evening shows, the table is set with cheese and charcuterie when you enter the suite. Mains an sides hit the table in about 30 minutes and dessert is served at your recliner or loveseat (not at the dining table) right before the movie begins.
For matinees, you enjoy cheese and charcuterie when you enter the room, you watch the film and then starters, mains and sides and dessert are served at a dining table in the room after the film.
There are a lot of drinks in the Signature drink package. Do we get all of that?
All of the drinks will be in the suite. We understand that different guests in your party may want different things. Some may want a cocktail or a mocktail, others beer, others wine, or a mix of all of the above. You are welcome to sample every item in the drink package but we will of course only responsibly serve each guest.
What are my options for beverages at Metro?
Like any restaurant, a la carte ordering is always available, but since Metro is built around group dining, we offer what we think is a compelling drink package to satisfy all of your guests in the private suite.
Our signature drink package includes two red wines, one bold, one lighter; two whites wines, one rich and buttery, one crisp and refreshing; two craft cocktails; a selection of beers, cider, alcohol-free beer, soft drinks, coffee and tea. Guests can mix and match to their tastes throughout the night.
For those guests who do not want to consume alcohol, we offer an alcohol-free drink package which includes two alcohol-free wine alternatives—one red, one white; two alcohol-free craft cocktails; two alcohol-free beers; soft drinks, coffee and tea.
As the host, you select the drink package that you prefer. On the night of your reservation, you or your guests can choose a different drink package or augment with wines from our cellar.
Do you have a kids menu? And if so, what is the cost?
Kids are welcome to try anything on the menu, but if it isn’t to their liking, Chef Joshua can make a mean sliced steak and plain noodles with butter. We will make sure that kids leave happy and full. For the current menus, a 50% credit per each child under 12 in your group will be applied to your final bill. In the very near future we will also be offering additional kids menu packages for birthday parties and other kids events.
We will be lauching a kids menu on December 10th for kids parties and larger groups of kids. Details will be posted to the website on December 1.
Is it possible to eat our meal during the movie?
Currently, the core experience of Metro is to eat before the movie. When we open up matinee screenings, we will offer the opportunity to watch the movie and have the meal after the movie. Down the road we may offer occasional experiences for dining during the movie, but those will be limited exceptions.
Do you have to eat a meal when you book a room at Metro Private Cinema?
Yes, for all bookings currently, choosing one of our meal options is required. After the 2025 December holidays, we will add additional options for late night snacking or watching sporting events anytime. We do currently offer private events and meetings with passed or plated appetizers and additional catering. If you are interested in a private event, please contact guest services for assistance.
If I book the 8 person room and only two people show up, do I have to pay for all 8 seats?
Yes, the rooms have a fixed fee based on the number of seats. An eight person room is 8 x $50 per seat, or $400.
For food and beverage, you only pay for what you eat and drink. If you book an eight person room, and only two people come, you will be charged for two dinners and whatever you drink.
There is, hoewver, a $35/head food and beverage minimum, so in this same example, if you do book an eight person room, and only two people show up, the food and beverage minimum for those two poeple is $280.
Is there a food and beverage minimum?
Our dinner reservations have a food and beverage minimum of $35/seat, assuming full occupancy. For example, the minimum for an 8-seat room is 8 x $35, or $280.
If I book a four person room and a fifth person shows up, will you be able to accommodate?
There are no guarantees, but we will try our best to accommodate extra guests. We have a limited number of additional seats. Check with a manager as early as possible and we will try.
Can I watch a movie with the subtitles on?
In many cases, yes! Most new releases have an open caption option and you can select that option if you'd like to view subtitles. Unlike your TV at home, you can't toggle the captions on and off with a remote, but if you want to watch the open caption version of a movie, look for that option under the accessibility options, then update your reservation once it's made. Note, this requires advance setup and cannot be done in the moment, so if you do require captions, please select that in advance. If you have questions, please feel free to contact us for assistance.
Do you sell gift cards?
Yes, we have gift cards! Metro Cinema gift cards can only be purchased in person at the venue. Just tell the front desk or your server that you'd like to purchase a gift card and they'll be happy to help. Our gift cards currently cannot be used to pay for a suite deposit on our website, but once the gift card holder is in the building, they can use them to cover anything, including suite deposit/rental, food, and beverage charges.
Can I bring in a birthday cake?
Yes, however we charge a $5/person fee to receive/cut/plate and clean up. If you do want to bring a cake, please let us know in advance so we can be ready for you.
