Home from college, Lucy reunites with family including pet chimp Ben. Ben contracts rabies during a pool party and turns aggressive. Lucy and friends barricade in pool, devising ways to survive the vicious chimp.

PRIMATE played Fantastic Fest four months before release as the opening night film, very early for a festival screening which is a testament to Paramount's confidence in the film. It played so well, gasps, screams and cheers at all the right places.
